Dr Cathy Fraser is a flautist who played in the inaugural concert of the Australian Doctors Orchestra (ADO) in 1993, and has played in almost every concert since then. She was President of ADO from 2001 to 2004, and remains involved on the committee. It was during her time as president of the national doctors orchestra that she had the idea of forming a state based medical orchestra, to give doctors more such opportunities. And so the NSW Doctors Orchestra was born, under the alias of “Musicus Medicus”. Cathy continues to manage the orchestra, with the help of the committee. She is a general practitioner, and has worked privately in her special interest area of Mental Health for many years. |
